Implant size for you breast should be personal/safe decision

What’s the perfect breast size? This is a difficult question, since women’s breasts come in all shapes and sizes, and the perfect size usually is what suits the body. Those who consider celebrity breast size as ideal can never be sure who’s natural and who’s had breast surgery. You’d be shocked to know that a push-up bra can deceive to the tune of up to three cup sizes!

Breast development

The hormonal changes during puberty are the green signal for breasts to start developing. This usually happens between the ages of ten and eleven, but in some cases it can be earlier or later, too. It takes anywhere from three to five years for breasts to reach their full size. Fortunately or unfortunately, the time the breasts begin to develop has no bearing on their final size. In other words, if you experience early development, it doesn’t mean you’ll have bigger breasts than others and vice versa.

What shape and size your breasts finally take usually depends on heredity. For the most part, your breasts will remain the same once puberty has ended. However, they may change with weight loss or gain, or after pregnancy.

Breast size and shape

Normal breasts can be large or small, smooth or lumpy and light or dark and can come in various sizes. So, how to measure the breast size to arrive at the correct bra and cup size? There are two variables you’d need to determine, namely your frame size, and your chest and breast size. To determine the frame size, you’d need to measure your ribcage directly under your breasts and ensure no breast tissue becomes part of this measurement.

To determine the bra size, add 5 to the frame size number. If what you get is an odd number, round it up to the next even number. For example, to a frame size of 26 inches, add 5 to get 31 inches and round it up to the next even number, that is, 32 inches. This is because bras come only in even numbers. Your bra size becomes 32 inches.

To determine your chest and breast size, measure around the chest over and including the fullest part of your bust, usually at the level of the nipples. More realistic measurement would be while wearing a comfortable bra.

Now, calculate the breast cup size by taking the chest and breast size number and subtracting bra size number from it. If the difference is from:

  • 0 to 0.5 inch, your cup size is AA
  • 0.5 to 1 inch, your cup size is A
  • 1 to 2.5 inches, your cup size is B
  • 2.5 to 3.5 inches, your cup size is C
  • 3.5 to 4.5 inches, your cup size is D
  • 4.5 to 6 inches, your cup size is DD (E)
  • 6 to 7 inches, your cup size is DDD (F)
  • 7 to 8 inches, your cup size is G

Altering the size and shape

You may have your own personal reasons for enhancing or reducing the size and shape of your breasts. They may be too big or too small for your comfort. They may be asymmetrical. Although much advertised, supplements, diets or exercise to increase breast size generally doesn’t help, only plastic surgery does. Plastic surgery to increase breast size involves insertion of implants inside the breasts and is an invasive procedure. So, before you decide to go in for this surgery, there are other alternatives you can explore, like wearing special supportive bras or special inserts that make breasts appear larger and shapelier.

Who doesn’t want to feel good about ones body? So, if you’re looking for a shapely bust, breast augmentation or reduction surgery remains the most preferred method. However, discuss all options with your plastic surgeon before taking any step.
